Patrick Johnson
Mixed media artist, Patrick Johnson (b. Anniston, AL 1970), divides his time between painting, creating architecture, and designing furniture. His work can best be described and understood as “situational storytelling”. He believes that his limitations in his short term memory are a gift in giving him greater retention of knowledge from the past. “I believe that my dreams and memories occupy a uniquely disproportionate area within my brain.” While not having a great short term memory, his recall for adolescent detailed dreams and memories, is astounding. He refers to this as his “dream vault”. His work attempts to describe events from various perspectives simultaneously.
